113. Nicholas HOLT was
born on 4 Oct 1755 in East Haven, Connecticut. He died on 16 Apr 1832 in Norfolk,

At the age of 17 he enlisted in the revolutionary army under Captain Watson,
and with his company were ordered to proceed to Quebec and assist General Montgomery.
Captain Watson met the enemy on the retreat, discomfited enfeebled and sick
with the small pox. Nicholas took the disease in crossing Lake George, and leaped
into the water as the disease was breaking out. He took a severe cold which
settled in his hip, occasioning a large swelling which partially maimed him for
life. He represented Norfolk twice in the general assembly.
